Land names in China Taiwan, Japan, N.Korea, S.Korea and Vietnam.

At fast,

China　中 国 …. Central Country.

Beijing　北　京…..  North  Metropolis

Nanjing 　南　京…..South  Metropolis

Shanghai　上　海….. Upper Sea

Guangzhou　広　州…..Broad State

Cheng Du 成 都…..Becoming Metropolis

Hong Kong　香　港…..Scent Harbor

In Chinese history,  capital city places are various.

Now, Beijing is.  but Nanjing and Chengdu also have Metropolis letters that’s why.

Next, Taiwan　台 湾.…Stand Bay,

And more, Tokyo’s full name is 東京都. it’s pronounced “Tokyoto”. oops.

Korean Peninsula had been used Chinese letter.

North Korea’s capital city

S.Korean capital Seoul is named by modern people in Korea after Chinese and Japanese names.

So, just Seoul, no Chinese letters.

People barely know Vietnamese had been used Chinese letters.

Japanese Tokyo bay is same lettering 東京湾 middle one. Just different from pronunciation.
